Sajan Nature Club, Palghar

This was an entirely unexpected trip, initially we were planning for river rafting or imagica and a resort at lonavala but somehow ended up finalizing this place.

Sajan Nature club is somewhere in palghar and is little less then 100kms from Mumbai, this place offers experience of the nature, which is not so usual for people staying in Mumbai.

this place offers the stay at AC tree top rooms (these are not actually on trees) which are very well maintained, and some activities (just for the sake, not interesting at all).

11th Aug 2018

It was about 2-3 hours’ drive, but we had to pick our colleagues from central and navi mumbai.

we were about 15people, and we had booked a 22 seater bus for the 2 day trip.

the start point was from my place (malad west).

i had the duty for the snacks, water and most importantly to leave on time.

i was scheduled to leave at 11:15am so that we could reach there at 4:30 pm after picking up colleagues from vikhroli, airoli and thane.

i got up super early on the Saturday and went straight away to dmart to get the snacks.

getting snacks for a lot of people can be tricky, you don't know whether they will like it or not.

so i did the most usual part and got all variety of snacks.

I left my place at 11:10 and started the journey at 11:20, we did find some traffic but it was very less compared to the weekday traffic.

Throughout the journey we played antakshri nonstop and i am really surprised that none of us got throat issues.

We reached the destination at 5:30.

Most of us had to skip lunch so we straightway went for the snacks.

To my biggest surprise, it was the worst snacks i ever had.

There was a big diner and for the snacks they served Sev puri and bhel.

Since it was kept for a while, the bhel was moist, we didn’t had time to complain to we just had it and then went to the swimming pool.

It was around 7 pm, and there was treasure hunt activity at 7:30 and the closing time for pool was 8pm.

We only had 30 mins for the pool

The pool seemed good, the water was clean.

Pool seemed fun, so we skipped the treasure hunt activity and stayed at the pool till about 9.

the staff didn’t come with the whistle at sharp 8pm to get us out of the pool he only came after once we were done and were about to leave.

I asked him if we could come to pool at night, to which he said No, they will put chlorine in the pool and it will be only open for swimming after 10am next day.

we all changed and then went back to the diner for the dinner.

The dinner was decent but not good.

There was a game room opposite to the diner, which had carrom and pool, was not worth spending the time there, TT bats and balls were not in the condition.

Still i played TT for some time.

we couldn’t find the tree top rooms to suitable enough to accommodate 15 people for games and activities so they offered us the hall.

We played, roamed around in the night, discussed real-life horror experiences and left at about 2am to our respective rooms.

the morning activities were scheduled from 7:30 am, and no one seemed interested in getting up early.

I wanted to do the activities so i set the alarm for 7:30

It was 6:30 when i woke up, not because of alarm but the beautiful sounds of the birds.

I went for a short walk and explored a dense forest and clicked some pictures.

I then went for the activities only to find out that they were worthless.

There's no thrill in those activities even 10-year-old kids were easily doing these activities.

The only decent activity was kayaking, that too didn't end up well for me.

before kayaking we played badminton, they provide with cricket, badminton, football etc.

after waiting for over an hour, it was my turn. i guess i was super excited.

as soon as i got into the boat i pushed it forward too quickly and fell of the boat roughly 2 meters from the starting point.

had to swim back to the starting point (it was 5 feet deep)

i had phone in my pocket, which stopped functioning, i asked a canteen guy for some rice.

he gave me about a kg of it, now i have enough rice for a month :D

i did the kayaking again, immediately after 1st failed attempt.

we went to the swimming pool a couple of times more, it was either sunny or rainy, the only thing constant was the chlorine in the water.

you could literally taste the chlorine it the water also feel your eyes burn.

even after bathing, my eyes and nose were deep red and i could feel my eyes burning.

later we had our lunch and left the place around 4pm

Merits

The place was nice, away from the city, in-between the forest, the tree tops were amazing.

Staff were cooperative.

De Merits

Activities were super boring

Super Expensive

No BBQ

No Bonfire during monsoon

Overall Experience

It was a good one time experience but was super expensive, the total cost for us was around 5k/head.
