Vandri Lake

Vandri Lake is few kms from Virar, the place doesn't have much to offer apart from the view and road in-between the Forrest.

This too was an unexpected trip, literally nothing went as planned.

There's a WhatsApp group of bikers in Mumbai and they have road trip’s every weekend, at places around Mumbai.

I wanted to go on those trips since few months but there was always some other plan or i couldn't get up on time.

this time too there were 2 different plans Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday i was too lazy to get up on time so i missed that trip.

but, on Sunday i made sure not to miss this trip.

Still nothing goes as planned....

I left my place right on time (6:15am), the meeting point was hotel fountain.

it was a 30 min ride in the morning.

I turned off the bikes engine on a 2.5mins signal at Borivali, and when it turned green, the bike refused to start.

i kept trying but nothing happened. i missed 4-5 signals

its super embarrassing when you are at the major signal and just string to start the bike while all other are moving and looking at you.

i was there for about 15 mins just trying to start the bike, i thought of returning home but i didn't wanted to spend the entire weekend at home, so i kept trying.

finally, after some time it started only to get struck later on the highway due to metro construction.

Once the congestion was over, the roads were quick to cover.

I reached at 7:30 am at the meeting point, i was 30 min late and couldn't spot anyone so i didn't stop there, thought maybe could catch-up on the way.

few minutes later i was at McDonalds where i thought of making a call, and to check status.

to my surprise i had no network on my phone and just few messages that you daily data packed has expired.

i checked the usage and saw that the entire 2gb has been used for backing up photos.

Now i had no network to call, or even the internet for the navigation purpose.

yet again i thought of returning home...

since the roads were straight i decided to continue...

i only had to take a right turn somewhere, which i initially missed and then took a u turn to reach the correct road.

I took the correct turn and the roads near the dam were really great.

As soon i reached the dam, i realized that i have already been to this place in the summer few years back.

the place is way different during the two seasons

During summer you can even camp at this place, but during most of the landscape is either in the water or under the trees.

there was not much to see after the starting point but still i went further to explore the area.

the curved roads covered with Forrest on one side and some trees and the lake on the other side.

the ride through this road was soothing.

I found a normal muddy path which didn't seem to go anywhere but since i was looking to go closer to the lake i took that patch and came across a very beautiful patch right next to the lake.

I spent some time over there, and then headed back to the start point.

most of the people returned back from start point since they couldn't find any other spots.

the start point was also the same point where we halted during the summer, there was lot of space there then but now almost all of it was covered under the water.

I left for home after clicking some pictures. While returning i stopped by for breakfast and had this amazing wada..

Summary

The place is wonderful for a short trip, just a couple of points to explore and the beauty of the lake.
